In this webinar on heat storage, Cyriel de Jong and Ewout Eijkelenboom explained the different types, the potential and drawbacks.
We looked at the situation in the Netherlands. Traditionally, the Netherlands relied heavily on natural gas as the source of energy to heat water and houses. In our search to reduce CO2 omissions, we need other alternatives. Is heat then a good possibility? The most common form of heat storage is probably that of district heating. In the Netherlands, several municipalities use this method to provide warmth to their households. However, there are other uses of that are currently being researched.
